This policy describes how Shadow AI (“Shadow”, “we”) handles information from our waitlist and from people who choose to use the Shadow assistant pilot. Features described below process information only when you use or connect them.
Information we receive
If you join the waitlist, we receive your email address. If you use Shadow, we receive your account details, requests, messages, preferences, and the responses needed to provide the service. WhatsApp use includes your phone number, message text, delivery events, and your notification choices. We also keep operational records such as connection status, action previews, approvals, and security events.
If you explicitly connect Google or Slack, we receive the account identity and authorized data needed for the features you use, such as email threads, calendar events, or permitted Slack conversations. We do not access an unconnected account.
How we use information
We use this information to operate Shadow, answer your requests, prepare drafts, show and carry out actions you approve, deliver messages and notifications you choose to receive, maintain account connections, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and respond to support or privacy requests. Waitlist email addresses are used for launch updates and related messages.
Services involved
We use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, messaging, and AI inference. Depending on the feature you use, relevant information may pass through providers such as Vercel, AWS, Clerk, Meta/WhatsApp, Google, Slack, and the selected AI model provider. Connected-account information is used for the tasks you request and the permissions you grant. We do not sell personal information. Providers may process information in countries outside your own.
Retention and your choices
We retain information while needed to provide the service, maintain security and action records, and meet applicable obligations. You can disconnect a connected account and turn off proactive WhatsApp notifications. To request access, correction, or deletion of your information, email us. We will review the request and explain any information that must be retained for legitimate reasons.
